Steve Gransbury is a graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta
NY. He started his insurance career in the early 1990’s with the
Paul Revere Insurance Group marketing individual and group
products. In 1996 Steve began his career in medical stop loss
reinsurance with the Boston area Managing General Underwriter (MGU)
LDG Insurance Underwriters after three years as an independent
employee benefits consultant.
Over the next seven years with LDG, and later with an Atlanta area
based MGU that had acquired LDG; Mr. Gransbury held marketing and
senior officer positions. In those roles medical stop loss new
business production, renewal persistency, profitability objectives
and producer management were his primary management
responsibilities. Additionally as Vice President & Managing Sales
Director for that company, all non-medical products fell under
Steve’s direction. Mr. Gransbury

Robert F. Lang
Bob Lang began his insurance career in the early 1990’s with
Excess Health, Inc a Medical Stop-Loss and Human Organ Transplant
Managing General Underwriter. Bob started working for LDG
Insurance Underwriters in 1994, and later with an Atlanta based
MGU that acquired LDG.
At LDG and later at the Atlanta based MGU, Mr. Lang initially held
the position of renewal stop-loss underwriter and later moved into
a production role as a Marketing Representative for that company.
In 2000 Bob was promoted to Regional Vice President of the
Northeast Region with responsibilities that included overall
management of that territory. This charge included oversight of
underwriting, risk management and marketing within the Northeast
Region in addition to managing corporate profitability targets.

Steven D. Solomon
Steve Solomon graduated from The University of Massachusetts,
Amherst in 1990 with a BS in Economics. He started in the stop
loss business in 1991 working for Excess Health, Inc., a small
Medical Stop Loss and Human Organ Transplant MGU. Mr. Solomon
received training and managed all aspects of the MGU operations
during his tenure, including Underwriting, Marketing, Policy,
Premium, Claims, and Reinsurance Accounting.
In 1995 Mr. Solomon joined LDG Insurance Underwriters as a Senior
Underwriter. Over the next 9 years Mr. Solomon held various Senior
Management positions at LDG (and later the Atlanta based MGU that
had acquired LDG). These positions included Northeast Regional
Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Executive Vice
President. During his final three years with that firm Mr. Solomon
had direct oversight for all underwriting, actuarial, risk
management, claims and legal issues, and reinsurance
relationships. Mr. Solomon

Amy K. Argeros
Ms. Argeros began her insurance career in 1995, working in the
sales department for a leading MGU. She gained valuable insight
into the reinsurance market through her supporting role to sales,
marketing and customer service. She advanced to the position of
Underwriter in 1996, learning all aspects of the stop-loss
business from the ground-up. Promoted to the role of Senior
Underwriter in 2000, her responsibilities include the growth and
persistency of a large block of profitable business. More
importantly, her goal was to establish and cultivate honest,
irreplaceable producer relationships.
Joining SLG Benefits & Insurance, LLC in 2003, Ms. Argeros’
ambition is to carry forward the same business/relationship
philosophy, expand her knowledge base and apply onward thinking
strategies for this continually changing market. Ms. Argeros’
underwriting management responsibilities include client
relationships in the Midwest and Southern United States.
Tara M. Krauss
Mrs. Krauss graduated Magna Cum Laude from Merrimack College
with a BS in Finance. She began her insurance career in 1996
working at a leading Managing General Underwriter. Mrs. Krauss was
hired as an Underwriter where she gained valuable experience in
all aspects of sales and underwriting in the reinsurance market.
She was promoted to Senior Underwriter in January of 2000 where
she maintained one of that company’s most profitable individual
loss ratios. In addition to consistent maintenance of her renewal
loss ratio and meeting new business sales goals, Mrs. Krauss was
involved in the development and implementation of several
interdepartmental functions as well as managing Sales
Administration and the Renewal Underwriting Team.
Mrs. Krauss joined SLG Benefits and Insurance, LLC as an
Underwriting Manager in October of 2003. Her position includes
cultivating producer relationships, underwriting new and renewal
business and providing expertise and timely solutions to our
business partners. Mrs. Krauss’ underwriting management
responsibilities include client relationships in the Eastern
United States.

Diane L. Stockwell, RN
Diane has been a nurse since 1983. She has
extensive clinical experience including medical/surgical, brain
and spinal cord injury and oncology. In addition, Diane has held
positions as charge nurse, nursing supervisor and MDS coordinator.
This knowledge base and experience is valuable in her risk
assessment responsibilities at SLG Benefits.
Ms. Stockwell began her insurance career in early 1999 working as a
case management coordinator with the Synergy Department at LDG
Insurance Underwriters and later as a case management coordinator
for an Atlanta based MGU. As a risk management coordinator, she
was responsible for maintaining professional relationships with
producers and vendors. Additional duties at SLG Benefits include matching
resources for medical issues affecting stop loss, medical
underwriting, and implementation of cost containment measures,
case management oversight and the overall management of high risk
claimants.
Diane has joined SLG Benefits & Insurance as of July 2004.
Susan M. Herzog, RN
Sue Herzog is a graduate of Salem State College with a BS in
Nursing. She has several years of clinical nursing experience in
hospital and physician office settings.
In 1995 she began a career in managed care as a Utilization Review
Nurse at Cost Care/Unicare, and was promoted to Case Manager in
shortly thereafter. Her knowledge of utilization review and case
management was further expanded while working at One Health Plan of
Massachusetts. In 1998 Sue transitioned to a case management
coordinator and later a Transplant Coordinator for a leading Boston
Massachusetts area Managing General Underwriter.
Sue joined SLG Benefits in October 2003 as a Risk Management Nurse
and hopes to use her experiences to provide support to clients and
business partners. Sue’s primary responsibilities at SLG Benefits
Include risk assessment, case management oversight and stop loss
reimbursement coordination.
Kimberley Carlton, Senior Claims Examiner
Kimberley Carlton began her career in claims at
Safety Insurance in 1982. Kim's service as a Claim Examiner has
extended to large insurers, legal firms, and
self-insured/self-funded corporations such as Waste Management Inc.,
August Busch/Anheuser Busch Co., and Partners Health Care. Kim's
professional experience has expanded her knowledge in the fields of
liability, injury, illness, and workers' compensation in addition to
medical claims and stop loss reimbursements. In 1999 Kim was
employed by the Claims Department of R. E. Moulton Inc., a full
service medical stop loss MGU.
Kim joined SLG in 2005. Her aim is to apply her experience and
skills adjudicating claims and stop loss reimbursement requests in
compliance with Plan Documents and Excess Loss language while
containing costs by utilizing Risk Management principals. In the
process Kim looks forward to working with Third Party Administrators
business partners.
